Wish there were more people there!
Despite the sound system blowing out, Susan and the opening act singer Courtney Jones handled the distracting "fireworks" with humor and poise during the great concert. The frustration they must have been feeling did not show, and both performers showcased their talents remarkably. Derek Trucks, a serious guitarist, did not disappoint the crowd and played with strength and clarity. The band leaders could have had more interplay, as the rest of the band was clearly talented and showcased well. The trumpet player upstaged them a bit, being quite lively and fun to watch. The headliner shared the stage with the band in a unique way. The trombone player's extended improvisational piece at the end could have been skipped, but overall the concert was very cool. Despite a challenging night, Susan knocked her final song out of the park and finished as a real pro. It seemed like she was hit with something in her face at the very end, but she handled it well.
